An upbringing surrounded by Charleston’s nature-oriented scenery afforded Amber’s vast exposure to various types of animals whether they belonged to her or were deemed homeless that she cared for until their long term fit was found. Needless to say, she bonded with animals early on in age and was destined to make them the center of her life’s work. After she spent nearly 10 years gaining hands-on practice through local organizational clusters, including Frances R. Willis SPCA for a year and a half, as an Adoption Counselor, and then Charleston Animal Society for five years as an Assistant Manager of Adoptions, Amber thought having administration skills would bode well for advancing a career in her chosen field. Therefore, she decided to seize another opportunity by enhancing her vita through Business Management studies at Trident Technical College. During her timeline, she also became Safer Certified for two years under the ASPCA Behavior Team and was trained in administering medication and First Aid and CPR certified. As a dedicated animal advocate, she takes advantage of expanded learning privileges by attending conferences, events and workshops. In 2014, Amber’s pathway lead her to Moonshadow where she now has the distinct honor of leading as the General Manager. Bolstering the Moonshadow team, passing on knowledge, and demonstrating what quality should look like is extremely rewarding for her. She is highly motivated to entrench herself in every aspect of animal care. Her passion has always been to greatly benefit their welfare while providing outstanding customer service for families within a safe and loving environment! Amber says that for her Moonshadow is the ideal place to make it all happen.
